Check out my character profiles for my two main leads in my WIP Beautiful Wilderness! I'm expecting to publish by December 2025!

Name:	Jane Livingston
Role:	FMC
Age:	26
Physical Description:	Dark hair pulled back in a tidy woven chignon. Small, rounded face, rose-bud lips, bright eyes, fair complexion.
Bad personality traits:	Uptight, haughty, know-it-all, materialistic
Good personality traits:	Adaptable, adventurous, confident, resourceful, true to her word, loyal.
Interests and hobbies:	Reading, violin, medicine
Misbelief:	Marriage is a contract/Love is a fantasy
Desire/Fear:	Securing her future by marrying well/Marrying a man who will abandon her like her father did when he lost everything.
Backstory:	Mother died when she was seventeen and taught Jane that a marriage is only a contract and that love was a fantasy. She tried to learn skills to become a nurse, but her father forbid it. Due to Jane’s father gambling wildly on speculations, he lost the entirety of his family’s wealth. He subsequently shot himself. Jane was then left alone with no home and no future due to her fiance rejecting her since she now was penniless. After six years of being a governess in New England and not finding any suitable prospects given her father's ruin and demise, she reluctantly answers an advertisement from a man out west, Franklin Millard, looking for a wife.
What drives your character:	She has nothing to go home to, so a marriage to a respectable man is her only avenue for security.

Name:	Adam Davies
Role:	MMC
Age:	28
Physical Description:	Tall, lean but strong from ranch work. His face and skin is somewhat reddened from the sun. Bright gray eyes that often hold a hint of amusement. His hands are calloused, and he moves with an easy, confident gait. Dark, somewhat unruly hair. He dresses simply in practical ranch wear.
Bad personality traits:	Stubborn, Guarded/Sarcastic, Pragmatic to a fault, Rough around the edges
Good personality traits:	Intelligent/Well read, Resourceful, Loyal, Kind/observant, Honorable
Interests and hobbies:	Reading (sometimes), Working the ranch, horses, strategic games, hiking, nature
Misbelief:	Love is a luxury for the privileged
Desire/Fear:	Secure his family’s ranch and be independent/Losing his ranch and the independence it represents.
Backstory:	Adam grew up in Lawrence until his father moved their family to western KS after Quantrill’s raid burned down their family home and killed two of his siblings. His father instilled in him a love for the land and the importance of hard work as they established the Davies Ranch. Adam has formal education from congregationalist college Yale like his father. Franklin Millard managed to cheat Adam’s father out of a valuable plot of land by purchasing anadjoining plot and getting a judge to agree that the property lines were drawn wrong.
What drives your character:	Protecting his family's legacy and regaining what was rightfully theirs. This motivation initially overshadows any potential personal feelings, especially for a woman he perceives as a pampered Easterner.
