Choosing Season Excerpt from Chapter 9

“By the way, everything cool with you and Katerina?” Bridget nodded and glanced towards the gardens.

“Janine gave her a warning. My hair still feels gross though.” Bridget had a disgusted look on her face as she ran her fingers through her hair. “Still don't know what I did to make her mad, been staying invisible.”

“Invisibility only works-” Timothy nudged his shoulder with hers before slipping his finger under a long chain surrounding her neck hidden under Bridget's blouse, “-when no one cares to see you.” Timothy smiled and tugged the chain out revealing an engagement ring.

“You sneak.” Bridget quickly tucked the ring back into her blouse before folding the pages and tucking them beneath her leg.

“You’ve been looking at it every chance you get.” Timothy teased. “They went on a four? Five dates? Ed ended it quietly when she flirted with Rich.”

“He doesn’t have to worry about that, His Highness isn’t my type, plus I’m still scared of him. Just waiting for him to tell Ed I’m not good enough.”

“If he does… Marry Ed anyway.” Timothy put his arm around Bridget’s shoulder and smiled warmly, something that rarely shows itself, but has made everyone who interacts with Timothy admire him. “In all that you do, be it working for Peg or going on to greater things that I know you will, do it well, and never let anyone look down on you for it.”
