Taking the Leap: Turning My Novels into Audiobooks

I'm genuinely thrilled to share that I've experienced some encouraging sales and received positive feedback concerning both of my novels this year. The responses from readers have been very supportive, and it's heartwarming to know that my stories have resonated with them on some level. Recently, I had the opportunity to participate in a book signing event, an experience that was both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. During this event, I managed to sell five copies of my books. While this number might seem like a small victory, for me, it represents a milestone. Each sale feels like a validation of my hard work and dedication to my craft, and it motivates me to continue writing and sharing my stories with the world. Every small victory counts, and this one has fueled my passion even further.

One thing that I've heard from friends is that they are interested in reading my books, but they have expressed a preference for audiobooks. Audiobooks are convenient for daily commutes and listening while doing chores so I completely understand their mindset.

As much as I loved the idea of an audiobook, I didn't pursue it at first because I don't have the voice to record one myself or the budget to afford one. Eventually, I reached out to an audiobook narrator to ask about her rates. She was very kind and, since I'm a relatively new author with a smaller readership, she recommended using Audible to find voice talent. This option is much more budget-friendly.

I don't have the funds to pay someone per finished hour, but Audible allows a royalty-share between me and my chosen voice artist. I'm happy to report that both Choosing Season and Beautiful Wilderness audiobooks are currently in production.
